Urban Housing Markets See Slowing Price Growth Due to Covid-19 in America’s urban areas than in less-populous regions, according to investment banking firm Natixis. Home prices in New York City have fallen for three straight months, while San Francisco prices fell in two of the past three months, rising just 1% since March. Home price growth in 11 of the 20 biggest cities has slowed below the 2.9% national average gain from March to July 2020. Analysts say the most densely populated cities have suffered the most because of their higher COVID-19 contagion risk.
