Long-term U.S. mortgage interest rates have declined or stayed flat for each of the last 11 weeks, according to data from mortgage guarantor Freddie Mac. The latest week marks two straight week of no movement. The average rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage held steady at 4.45% with an average of 0.4 points during the week ended January 24, 2019, although it is up from 4.15% a year earlier. Rates on 15-year FRMs were also unchanged at 3.88% with an average 0.4 points, although higher than 3.62% last year at this time.
